I'm Saliya - a software engineer based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, finishing a BSc in Computer Science at the University of Colombo School of Computing.
At hSenid Mobile Solutions I work on the systems behind large-scale telecom messaging and payments. I led the horizontal scaling of a payment-processing module from a single Scala monolith (~280 TPS) into a distributed, node-based architecture - now comfortably handling 15M+ payment transactions a day for Robi (Axiata Bangladesh). I'm currently Lead for the mSpace (Mobitel) operator and Co-Lead for Robi.
Before that I interned at WSO2, where I designed and built a new RDBMS connector for the Micro Integrator along with its VS Code tooling. And for years before that I freelanced - building custom, full-stack web platforms (not just front-ends): tailor-made and tuned for performance rather than pulled from a template, for companies, schools, government bodies and non-profits across Sri Lanka and beyond.
Away from the day job I'm a competitive programmer (IEEEXtreme world rank 111), a hackathon regular, a gamer, and - when I step back from the keyboard - a photographer and videographer.
Scaled the Mandate payment-processing module from a Scala monolith (~280 TPS) into a distributed node architecture now handling 15M+ daily transactions for Robi (Axiata Bangladesh). Key contributor to modernizing a 40+ module CPaaS suite, and ran workshops introducing students to API monetization.
Designed and built a new RDBMS connector for the WSO2 Micro Integrator - JDBC connectivity, connection pooling, CRUD, stored procedures and transactions - plus first-class VS Code tooling that auto-discovers database schema and generates safe, parameterized SQL. Shipped across four core WSO2 repositories.
Designed, built and maintained web platforms for local and international companies, schools, government institutions and non-profits - from e-commerce and learning-management systems to real-time trading platforms. Co-founder & VP of the studio EgoSurf.

A web platform for trading commercial papers, securities and debentures - with live order matching, a real-time order book and competing bid/offer notifications, plus dashboards that automate yield and accrued-interest calculations for traders.
An e-commerce platform serving thousands of concurrent shoppers from a single, heavily optimized PHP monolith with a 50,000+ product catalogue. The expensive work - bulk push to 10K+ devices, AI product-image enhancement, and resilient loyalty-CRM sync - runs on fire-and-forget Python job queues so checkout never blocks. Atomic variant-level inventory, idempotent multi-gateway payments (PayHere, Koko, Mint Pay, COD), and a REST API powering the mobile apps.
A learning-management and e-commerce platform: live lectures, real-time quizzes with live leaderboards, an exam system, shareable digital certificates, and a custom DRM-protected video library.
An all-in-one in-room entertainment and guest-services system for hotel TVs - per-guest personalized content, in-room dining, service requests and VOD/Radio subscriptions, with a full staff admin dashboard. Solved cross-vendor compatibility across legacy set-top boxes.
A personalized exam-prep platform: adaptive study plans, performance analytics, a quiz-recommendation engine and mentor dashboards for tracking each student's progress, strengths and weaknesses.
An online marketplace for consumer goods - listings, cart, payment-gateway integration, invoicing and reviews - with a REST API powering the customer and delivery-partner mobile apps.
A small studio I co-founded, shipping freelance web work and digital products for clients across Sri Lanka - and the home base for much of the freelance work that taught me to ship end-to-end.
